Founder and CEO of HER Initiative. HER Initiative serves as a conduit of resources and health information for black women and girls to equip them to lead empowered, healthy and whole lives.

According to Womenshealth.gov, AIDS is now the leading cause of death for African-American women ages 25–34. And African-American women are more than 21 times as likely to die from HIV/AIDS as non-Hispanic white women. Skyy Bank’s riveting novel chronicling the ramifications of childhood sexual abuse not only sheds light on this traumatic experience but how often times it is a correlation of the risqué behaviors adults partake in. Armed with this knowledge and a powerful novel that embodies the message of surviving and thriving, Skyy’s now on a mission to take it a step further. In continuing to spark dialogue about taboo subjects within our community she has a goal to test 10,000 individuals by years end. Just as sexual abuse is not a respecter of person, ethnicity, gender, or age so is HIV. Partnering with local health agencies, foundations, and community activists, Skyy seeks to empower the masses through education, protection, and prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles.
