A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” ~ Diane Mariechild.
This mantra is one that Arkansas native Skyy Banks embodies. As an author and freelance writer, she has penned pieces digital magazines such as ForHarriet and Sonic Eclectic. A staunch advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness for women and girls, Banks is driven to educate and empower others on positive life style behaviors as Georgia’s Red Pump Project Ambassador.
As a result, she has brought the conversation of HIV/AIDS to the African American female community as a whole; creating a “safe” space for conversations around stigma, healthy relationships, and self-care to those who are at known and unrealized risk.
She enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and spending quality time with family. Skyy is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Using her writing as a platform, she encourages her readers to explore taboo subjects and engage in dialogue to find solutions.
Honing her creative ability to inspire others, she has created the brand “Dare to Be”- a line of products bearing positive affirmations. The first line of products is lip gloss with subsequent lines to include jewelry and journals. Stay tuned!
On any given day, Skyy is sure to be somewhere impacting lives through mentoring and other civic engagement.
